Job Details:
+ Position Purpose: Obtain and prepare quality specimens for processing in a safe and timely manner. Essential Functions and Basic Duties: Primary Duties Service and Quality Positive and supportive team member to staff members and the hospital Treat all customers in a professional, courteous, prompt manner Demonstrates a professional and caring attitude Compliant with Departmental and Hospital Policies and Procedures and State/Federal Regulations Adheres to policies and procedures for infection control, HIPPA, safety and risk management Completes required emergency planning drills Interaction with other departments in solving problems and working as a team Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation Attend monthly staff meetings Serve as a liaison between the clinic and hospital labs and as a reference for nursing staff Administrative Keep supplies stocked and order as needed Ensure accurate patient demographics and tests are entered in computer data base Provide necessary instructions to customers for specimen collection Answer telephone Clinical Be proficient in phlebotomy skills for all ages using appropriate collection devices Prepare specimens to ship to reference labs Perform venipunctures and collect blood cultures Collect B-strep cultures/MRSA screens/FLU screens Start test and obtain specimens for glucose tolerance tests Perform drug screens Perform breath alcohol screens Perform paternity collections Respond to Code Blue Proper use of two patient identifiers Applies guidelines for age appropriate and patient mental status Perform quality control on Glucometer each day of use Dispose of and change sharps containers Performs other duties as assigned Secondary Duties o Demonstrates 100% commitment to performing according to the CHOICE values of MRH and representing the organization in a positive and professional manner. o Establishes and maintains effective communication and good working relationships with all co?workers. o Adheres to MRH and department dress code policies and procedures. o Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time. o Completes annual education, training, in-service, and certification requirements; attends departmental staff meetings or reads meeting minutes. o Maintains regulatory requirements. o Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. o Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated times. o Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. o Strives to ensure continual compliance with departmental, hospital, state and federal regulations and policies. o Follows policies and procedures for infection control, safety, and risk management to ensure a safe environment for patients, public and staff. Performance Measurements: o Periodic feedback sessions with Laboratory Manager o Annual Competencies Qualifications: Education/Certifications: o High School graduate or equivalent o Phlebotomist ASCP registry preferred o CPR Certified Experience Required: o One year phlebotomy experience preferred o Medical office skills preferred Skills/Abilities: o General knowledge of all Microsoft Office products o Excellent written and verbal skills o Gentle and kind bed side manner Work Environment: o Able to adapt to work load demands and remain calm and function efficiently during difficult or emergent settings. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
