+ Position Purpose: The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for preparing instruments trays and supplies in a safe and cost-effective manner in the Perioperative Services Department. Essential Functions and Basic Duties: Primary Duties Clinical Demonstrates competence necessary to assemble, clean, maintain, replace, and inventory equipment and instruments for all instruments trays. Assures that instrument trays are assembled according to tray sheets. Demonstrates competence in preparing and cleaning of OR suites before and between cases and after terminal case, based upon the patient's infection class. Restocks supplies as needed. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of instrument processing, sterilization, biological monitoring, and chemical monitoring. Assists with the maintenance of supply levels. Cleans shelves in all works areas. Assists in keeping the Surgical Services Department clean and orderly. Monitors and promotes a safe environment during care and maintenance of instruments and equipment. Performs all aspects of Sterile Processing and Central Services in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors. Inspects instruments for proper functioning and completeness and reports malfunctioning or lost equipment and instruments to the Lead RN or Director of Surgical Services. Performs other duties as assigned, such as checking for outdates; reporting/troubleshooting inoperable equipment; maintenance of physician preference cards; ensuring cleanliness of sterile processing equipment; and testing effectiveness of sterilizes through dart testing, biological testing, chemical testing, and diagnostic cycles. Completes applicable documentation within shift and meets current standards, policies and procedures. Appropriately assists in the response to the patient in an emergency or physically distressful situation. Makes decisions reflecting knowledge of facts and good judgment within the Sterile Processing Technician's scope of practice. Assists Surgical Service staff in pulling surgical cases utilizing physician preference cards. Performs all duties of the Sterile Processing Technician. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated times. Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Strives to ensure continual compliance with departmental, hospital, state and federal regulations and policies. Follows policies and procedures for infection control, safety, and risk management to ensure a safe environment for patients, public and staff. Participates in mandatory in-service and staff meetings. Qualifications: Education/Certifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Certified Sterile Processing Technician preferred Current BLS CPR Certification required Valid Colorado Driver's License required Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred Skills/Abilities: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English Additional languages encouraged Comprehensive computer knowledge Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms Manage stress appropriately, handle multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure Work Environment: Average 36 hours clinical shifts each week Equipment: All equipment utilized in Central Services and Surgery, including clerical and medical equipment Mandatory Training & Involvement: SWANK Education Safety In-Service Annual Competencies NIMS Training: IS-100Hcb and IS-700A Staff Meetings Infection Control Hazardous Materials CHOICE Values AIDET + P LEAN training ISO-9001 Position Purpose: The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in the Surgical Services Department. Essential Functions and Basic Duties: Primary Duties o Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization. o Ensures continual compliance with National Standards and Hospital and Surgical Services policies and procedures. o Completes specially assigned duties consistently and as the schedule allows. o Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time. o Completes annual education, training, in-service, and certification requirements; attends departmental staff meetings or reads meeting minutes. o Maintain required competencies. o Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. o Demonstrates competence in: a. Re-establishing a safe, clean environment after each surgical case. b. Terminally cleans operating rooms, special procedure room, and scrub/utility areas at the completion of scheduled cases during the regular work week. c. Thoroughly cleans, hallways, endoscopy thru sterile core ,staff areas, utility rooms, supply rooms, decontamination areas, and storage areas at the completion of scheduled cases during the regular work week, d. Cleans all areas and equipment according to the established schedule. e. Utilizes hospital-approved cleaning agents. f. Restocks and orders supplies, including anesthesia, as assigned. g. Coordinates cleaning with department staff. o Performs duties as assigned, such as checking for outdates and completing of assigned clerical duties. o Establishes and maintains effective communication and good working relationship with co?workers for the patient's benefit o Makes decisions reflecting knowledge of facts and good judgment within required duties of the Environmental Services Technician. o Assists the perioperative team within scope of training. o Completes specially assigned duties consistently and as the schedule allows. o Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time. Qualifications: Education/Certifications High school diploma or GED Completion of American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services From Top to Bottom: Cleaning Operating and Procedure Rooms video and post-test upon hire. Current BLS certification required or obtained at the next offering. Valid Colorado Driver's License Minimum Experience: Previous environmental services experience in a healthcare setting strongly recommended. Skills/Abilities: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages encouraged. Basic computer knowledge desired. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
