JOB SUMMARY: -
Performs a variety of functions related to food preparation and delivery; takes reservations; maintains cleanliness of food service areas and equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (All responsibilities may not be performed by all incumbents.)
Prepares and distributes food, including: assuring food is prepared within health guidelines; preparing food for special occasions; serving food; delivering food to home-bound clients; and assuring dining facilities are set up correctly.
Assists in checking-in and storing delivered items.
Cleans ail kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, dining room, etc., in compliance with health regulations and guidelines; sweeps and mops floors; sanitizes supplies and equipment; assists in conducting kitchen inspections.
IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:
Answers phone, takes messages, screens calls, determines nature and priority of call, provides information to callers, receives tenant complaints, and directs calls and messages to appropriate person.
Performs facilities maintenance functions, including: dusting, emptying trashing, cleaning bath areas, etc. Responds to emergency calls.
Drives senior bus.
Disseminates a variety of information to various agencies, divisions, or departments via telephone, mail or FAX.
May serve as backup for other positions within the department.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performs functions associated with various housing authority activities, including: housekeeping; food preparation and delivery; and transportation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:(All responsibilities may not be performed by all incumbents.)
Assists in preparing and distributing food, including: setting up and cleaning kitchen before and after meals; assuring food is prepared within health guidelines; preparing food for special occasions; serving food; delivering food to home-bound clients; and assuring dining facilities are set up correctly.
Provides transportation services for seniors including: driving bus and van; completing safety checklist; assisting passengers on and off vehicle; and cleaning and maintaining vehicle.
Performs basic housekeeping functions; assists tenants.
Performs basic landscaping and facilities maintenance duties; cleans and makes minor repair to apartment fixtures, walls, etc.
IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:

Enters information into computer system; files documents.
Responds to emergency calls.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED; and
Six months to one year of progressively responsible related experience; or,
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills, and abilities to perform ' e essential functions of the job.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Colorado Driver's License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
FOOD SERVICES ASSISTANT
Knowledge of:
Policies and procedures, codes, ordinances and departmental operating standards in assigned department.
Record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques.
Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
Applicable state, federal and local ordinances, laws, rules and regulations.
Safety rules and regulations.
Skill in:
Operating and maintaining all assigned equipment required to perform the essential functions of the job.
Using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
Applying logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks; to understand, interpret and communicate policies and procedures.
Communicating orally with internal staff, citizens, and other departmental staff in order to give and receive information in a courteous manner.
Mental and Physical Abilities:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and so forth.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; speak and hear; bend and squat; use color, taste and odor perception and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions:
While performing the essential functions of the job the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes and airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; dirt and dust; noxious fumes and odors; and risk of electrical shock.
The incumbent's working conditions are typically moderately loud.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
