This position is looking for a candidate who is involved in Environmental Studies/Sustainability and wants to learn more about the ski industry and operational sustainability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assist in the research and development of operational sustainability projects, such as waste diversion trainings, energy use tracking, composting, and forest health and environmental education initiatives.
Assist in data tracking for annual greenhouse gas emissions inventories.
Work with different business units and Departments to increase the data collected regularly.
Support on mountain inventories, site assessments and program development for these projects.
Support employee and community events that promote sustainability by preparing event collateral, coordinating event details, and tabling at events.
As part of this work, help develop agenda, materials, and slides for monthly Green Team meetings.
Support communication of the work of SSRC's sustainability work, including preparing blogs, fact sheets, presentations, social media, and beekeeper posts Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements Other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Pursuing or completion of college degree in relevant field required Previous experience, lived, educational, and/or professional, working to advance sustainability preferred Interest in understanding more about corporate sustainability Ability to research and document research in an efficient and clear manner Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication ability Self-directed and motivated to conduct work without continuous supervision Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) Ability and willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams A curious mindset and appetite to learn, with solid analytical and problem-solving skills Understanding and managing budgets Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company's Service Excellence standards Must be at least 18 years of ageEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED equivalentThe base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's hourly pay range for this position.
Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel.
The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's total compensation package for employees.
